The New England Endocrine Alliance (NEEA) is comprised of over 450 members of the endocrine community. We are committed to providing the best possible care to our patients with diabetes and other endocrine conditions. We are very appreciative of your recent proposal to eliminate prior authorizations (PA) thereby reducing administrative burdens faced by medical practices in Massachusetts. We are especially supportive of the proposal that patients with diabetes will no longer need a PA for any service including devices (such as continuous glucose monitors or insulin pumps) as well as diabetes medications. Due to the fact that our endocrine practices are greatly affected by current PA requirements, NEEA would be interested in volunteering to assist the Division of Insurance with your proposal.
